This is our first year in Tulsa and one of my new friends found out that we were going to be by ourselves for Christmas this year.  The door bell rings and there she is with cookies and a beautiful arrangement of flowers to brighten our day. LET ME START OFF BY SAYING MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM US TO YOU!

This has been an exciting year in Tulsa.  First record snow storm as soon as we arrived.  Next tornado's, record heat, record drought and then the icing on the cake EARTHQUAKES.  Ok knows how to roll out the welcome wagon for all the new comers in a big way.  I am afraid that folks up here in OK land think we brought it with us.  We have been blessed by being near the family and making new friends this year.

Now we are all looking at Savannah to see what the New Year might bring.  Is that Sugar Plums dancing in her head or is she thinking what will Santa Bring.  Or just maybe what little trick can I pull of the family.  What ever it is I know that 2012 will bring our family joy of being together, days of fun and I am sure life's ups and downs.  The biggest Blessing is knowning that God has a great plan for each of our lives and we give thanks and prasies to him each day for his grace, love and comfort.

When this painting first started it was going to be a rose painting and the only rose that ended up in the painting was a small yellow rose.  All the other flowers wanted to be roses but they are Anything but a Rose.  Sometimes I find myself wishing that I was doing something  else or some where else but when it comes down to it all I am  the rose everyone thinks I am and that is perfect.  May you find your easel friendly.

If you have never painted outside in the elements it is a challenge but so fun.  The best day is getting to paint!  This day the winds were almost 40mph.  So with one hand on the easel and a brush in the other the painter goes on.  With sun glaring down and the light ever changing the real fun begins.  This was a quick study of the sage plant.  The smells were glorious, the challenge enjoyable and hopefully a great result that you enjoy.  May you add a litte flavoring to your life and may your easel be friendly.
