What could be better than freshly picked flowers from your own garden?  The smells in the studio were so lovely and made a painting that even more enjoyable.  The roses are blooming in the garden along with the Peonies.  This time of year is just a feast for the eyes.

When arriving at the Nursery the flower selection this time of year is so grand and you just want them all but alas only the few can be chosen.  Several were purchased and brought back to the studio to be the perfect models.  The favorite is the blooms from my Grandmothers favorite bush the Snowball Bush.  This still-life represents how you feel when you see all those lovely spring flowers just an explosion of color.

Fly Away by artist Pat Meyer

Sweet Hubby had a request that I do a new painting for over the fireplace.  He wanted something that would make a statement.  This Ballerina is done in an abstract contemporary fashion.  He was a commercial pilot so thought flying away would represent part of his past.

Flowers are blooming everywhere and are just glorious.  What is in your garden?  We all like different plants and colors but joyous colors are my weakness.  Growing beautiful flowers make my heart sing.
