When arriving at the Nursery the flower selection this time of year is so grand and you just want them all but alas only the few can be chosen.  Several were purchased and brought back to the studio to be the perfect models.  The favorite is the blooms from my Grandmothers favorite bush the Snowball Bush.  This still-life represents how you feel when you see all those lovely spring flowers just an explosion of color.

Sweet Hubby had a request that I do a new painting for over the fireplace.  He wanted something that would make a statement.  This Ballerina is done in an abstract contemporary fashion.  He was a commercial pilot so thought flying away would represent part of his past.

Flowers are blooming everywhere and are just glorious.  What is in your garden?  We all like different plants and colors but joyous colors are my weakness.  Growing beautiful flowers make my heart sing.

Spring is here and the flowers are starting to bloom.  Carmel California seems to be full of the Calla Lilly flowers and other tiny flowers.  The colors are a feast for the eyes and the flowers blow in the salt air winds.  The inner twinning of the flowers makes them seem like the best of friends.  This painting will remind you of all those stunning cottage gardens.

If you are ready for Spring this painting is for you.  The flower models with all their big beautiful petals were showing off all their beautiful colors.  When placing these flowers together it felt so cheery in the studio.  Clear colors, dancing flowers, and sweet fragrant smells just perfect.

This is the first painting I have worked on in a month since coming down with pneumonia.  How many brain cells does it take to do a painting?  Must be allot since during the painting came down with a major headache.  Will have to wait a little longer to get back to the easel.

These 2 paintings were hanging out on the easel yesterday.  The way I draw and paint is sight-size painting.  No matter the canvas you can adapt your painting to the size by using this method.
