Monet has inspired me to use his vibration of color to create this painting.  It is lively and bright still life that adds drama to a room.

Last week when walking into the store I spotted these marvelous yellow and red roses.  My heart began to skip a beat and my mind was racing on how they could be my next models in the studio.  They seem to enjoy their job and held their position while the painting commenced. Now the studio is filled with color and I can almost smell their sweet fragrance.

Little Flow Blue by artist Pat Meyer

9 x 12 oil on linen
my own collection

Flow Blue puts off it's own type of glow from the underneath of the porcelain.  It is hard to capture all the characters of the creamer.  What I wanted to achieve is to have it as my center of interest and show the delicate lines.  The balance of the other objects gives this creamer strength and interest.

Do you ever stop and just ponder the beauty that surrounds us in our daily life.  Looking for the goodness and things that enrich your soul.  We have to take time to be quiet and just let nature speak to us and renew our souls.  It is in that time of reflection that we gain greater knowledge of who we are and what really matters.  The View From Our Texas Home lets me escape to those places in my heart that renew me.
