Not Your Typical Flowers by artist Pat Meyer

During the winter months, it is hard to find different stunning flowers.  The local florist was so kind as to provide stunning unusual flowers.  The Big Yellow flower I don't know the name but sure wanted to be the star of this painting.  Balance it out with the red, black and white flower.  It gives this painting an exotic feel.  Like in life we have other flowers that are typical but still lovely.

This painting showcases the roses for Valentines.  Whether you like pink or yellow both are showing their glory in the little willow blue pot.  To balance the painting the small vase holds overflow of flowers with a small lemon to keep the harmony of the painting.

Tie a Bow on It by artist Pat Meyer

Snow, Snow and more Snow today so why not paint.  These flowers were purchased for a demo but we were snowed out.  I decided to put the little market flowers into the 3 vases to separate them out to showcase their beauty.  The Sunflower was the star of the flowers so she had to be front and center and all her supporting flowers surrounded her to make her feel warm and cozy on this cold day.  To finish this little painting the green bow made me think to Tie a Bow on It.

In My Secret Garden by artist Pat Meyer

Today the flowers were all leaning on each other like they were telling their secrets.  So my thought while painting these flowers that they were feeling safe and secure in their little secret garden. We all need our own places in life that we go to feel secure to tell secrets.

When looking around the studio at all my vases trying to select the right one I realized that the vase is the object that holds my treasures.  The treasure today was the beautiful sunny sunflowers.  As I continued to think about this it dawned on me we are ourselves are much like the vase.  We hold the treasure of kindness, love, hugs and much more to show our beauty.
