One of my dear students Dedra gave me these beautiful oak leaf blossoms.  They produced these wonderful colors as they dried out.  The pumpkin and it's warm colors seem to harmonize with them. Working with the techniques of the palette knife on the pumpkin to add texture and interest.  The contrast of the smooth vase to the textural pumpkin created a great visual.

Hidden Heart by artist Pat Meyer

This was yesterdays demo painting while at Dotson's produce stand for the class.  It started off cloudy, then got sunny and then the 25 mile an hour winds came.  Easels were tossed about, dust in the air and honking cars.  All part of Plein Air painting.  It was so fun being outside with the class.
When getting home and showing sweet hubby my art he first noticed the heart in the painting so this is why I called it hidden heart.

The sweet folks at Dotson's Produce allowed me to return for another session of painting.  The day was perfect.  The sun was shinning, sky pure blue, about 78 degrees and set up glorious.  Hope you are getting to enjoy the fall weather and all that it brings for being outside.  The warm colors the days getting cooler, and almost no bugs.  Days like this I know how truly blessed I am getting to sit and paint to my hearts content and I thank God for the opportunity and for the nice people like Doug and his wife at Dotson's
