The Poet's Wife Roses by artist Pat Meyer

Ever wonder where they come up with the name for roses?  I just purchased this newest David Austin rose bush called the Poet's Wife.  It is a lovely antique rose bush with yellow blooms and a sweet smell of a rose.  The blooms are big and colorful.  Wonder which Poet's wife they were talking about.  Guess I need to do some research on this.

These little yellow roses hang on the vine like they are meant to be sisters.  I painted this in honor of my Mother and her Sister to show their beauty and love for one another.

When you want to tell someone that you love them what better way than to give red roses.  Red is a color that makes you feel something.  It can make you feel loved, energy, passion,  and has used by all elite people through out history.  Red has represented so many things but most of all it makes a statement.

The other day I dug up the last of the pansies.  They have endured the entire winter season.  The freezing cold, snow, rain, hail, and my bunnies trying to eat them all the time.  At this point they are like us they are a little frazzled but they still let their beauty show through.
